Most of my favorite albums are ones I grew up with. That’s the way with Christmas, right? Thankfully, my parents have great taste in music.
Home for Christmas ~ Amy Grant
I think we can all agree by this point that my love for Amy Grant is well documented.
Christmas in the Aire ~ Mannheim Steamroller
Mannheim has done many Christmas albums, but I don’t think the later offerings live up to these first three, which are pure gold.
A Fresh Aire Christmas ~ Mannheim Steamroller
Christmas ~ Mannheim Steamroller
White Christmas ~ Bing Crosby
I mean, he was the original crooner of “White Christmas”, so obviously he belongs in the Christmas music hall of fame. (Incidentally, the song was from Holiday Inn before White Christmas.)
The Christmas Song ~ Nat King Cole
And this guy immortalized “The Christmas Song” in this splendidly mellow album.
James Galway’s Christmas Carol
I never grow tired of listening to Galway’s flute. This is great background music in the holiday spirit.
A Charlie Brown Christmas ~ Vince Guaraldi Trio
This is not just one of my favorite Christmas albums, it’s just one of my favorite albums. It’s the perfect blend of cerebral and comfortable.
What are yours?
