I’m mostly posting today because I wanted to tell you to go read this: Brave Moms Raise Brave Kids. I don’t unreservedly recommend this blogger, as I have occasionally seen her theology veer left of what I can agree with. This particular post, however, is just exactly what moms in our wimpy, worried, safety-(over)conscious culture need to read. Read it even if you’re not a mom, and then file it away for later, or share it with every mom you know.
And while you’re at it, you might enjoy Raising Little Women (or Men): What We Can Learn from Marmee over at Simple Homeschool. Little Women is hands-down my favorite childhood book. I’ve loved it since I first read it at age seven. And then, when I was 10, they made it into a movie (again), and Laurie was played by Christian Bale. CHRISTIAN BALE WAS LAURIE. I was never so excited in all my life.
I should go watch that now.
Karmen over at Chairs from the Curb is doing a pretty cool challenge this year, involving simplifying her life. I’m not joining her because I think adding on to my house is enough of a project for the year, but I thought some of you might like to check out her New Challenge.
